Central Life Sciences' Professional Products Division is focused on delivering insect management solutions for challenging pests in livestock, grain storage and processing, horticulture, turf, along with ant control in food crops. We have an outstanding opportunity available for a Sales Development Manager on our Grain/Specialty sales team. The successful individual will be a "hunter," responsible for supporting and growing sales in their assigned territory, along with market planning and driving product adoption. This role is a remote, home-office based field sales position. Desirable candidates will preferably be based in the Midwest region (IN/IL/IA/MO).

We need organized individuals who can prospect and follow-through on key business opportunities for insect management solutions for the grain industry. The sales development manager will implement successful business development plans in concert with corporate objectives, supporting key accounts, reporting on market and competition, as well as, developing market assessment for our product portfolio in assigned areas. The sales development manager represents Central Life Sciences at key industry associations, trade shows and in various industry seminars. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work with sales directors, regional sales managers and business managers to achieve target market development and sales targets in assigned area for all grain/specialty products
  • Report market conditions and competitive environment to the management team
  • Supports the development of market adoption strategies/tactics that are in alignment with Central Life Sciences vision/mission/objectives for the grain/specialty products in assigned area and/or accounts
  • Partner with key accounts in developing market adoption strategies that enable highest market share adoption in shortest amount of time
  • Support the implementation of account and regional business plans that achieve sales objectives
  • Manage company resources for highest ROFE (return on funds expended): expenses, marketing funds, advertising guidance, company equipment, etc.
  • Complete administrative and reporting responsibilities as requested
  • Quarterly reviews the market and key account business plans with leadership and modifies to achieve best results
  • Report monthly on variance against budgets volumes/expenses and sales activities
  • Actively participate in key industry associates, trade shows, seminars, and meetings
  • Provide director of sales and business manager with continual marketplace feedback, product management suggestions, product sales forecasts, and key business opportunities
  • Utilize S.M.A.R.T. Goals (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time oriented) in business plans
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Highly motivated self-starter; must be able to work with minimal supervision and work under pressure in a fast-changing environment
  • Up to 75% travel required in territory; frequent overnight travel required
  • Ability to communicate effectively and develop good working relationships with customers; clear verbal communication and strong organizational skills; communicate effectively (in person and over the phone) and in writing
  • Strong presentation skills required
  • Strong proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Quality, accuracy, timeliness, reliability, and thoroughness of work performed; maintain the integrity of confidential customer and product information
  • Strong business acumen: plan and organize work effectively; analyze problems; draw conclusions; propose solutions
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
  • BS/BA degree in Animal Science, Agribusiness, Agronomy, Ag Economics, Ag Education, Entomology, or other related scientific degree
  • 3+ years sales experience in Life Sciences Industry or Agriculture; preferably in the Agri-chemicals, stored grain channels
  • Proven successful sales results
  • Excellent prospecting skills; excellent cold calling skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Strong Field based marketing and business planning skills
  • High energy and enthusiasm for market development
  • Ability to thrive in fast paced work environment
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Overnight travel approximately 50-70%: frequent car and airline travel; hotel sleep accommodations
  • Attendance at National and State Trade meetings; presentations for product training and producer meetings
  • Home office conditions when not actively traveling in region. Variation in work hours is necessary due to employee and customer schedules, special projects, deadlines and other business activities
