SALARY RANGE: $169,229 - $190,828 per year
WORK SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week, M-F (9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.)
Develop software and tools in support of design, infrastructure, and technology platforms, including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases, and Internet-related tools. Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs for enhancements and new features in 1830 Photonic Service Switch. Provide support for the 1830 Photonic Service Switch (PSS) DWDM platform to help optical network operators build networks that can accelerate the delivery of mobile, video, business, wavelength, Ethernet, and cloud services using short, long (200G wavelength distances of 2,000 km) and ultra-long-haul (100G wavelength distances of 7,500 km) high speed optical data center interconnection with payload capacity ranging up to 500G. Design network management protocols based on YANG, OpenConfig, Netconf, and SNMP. Design and develop new optical transmission features. Implement features in C++ in a real-time, embedded Linux system. Work with system test and field support teams to investigate software problems, isolate the root cause, and provide solutions. #LI-DNI
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Must have a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field, and 5 years of post-Bachelor's, progressive related work experience.
Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience with the following: Developing optical transmission features involving OTSIG, OTUCn, and FlexO; Optical network management protocols based on OpenConfig and NetConf; Valgrind, tcpdump, wireshark, and GDB; and C++.
Telecommuting from a location within commuting distance of Murray Hill, NJ permitted up to 40%.
