What will the Kitchen Assistant do?

Quickly and efficiently prepare food.

Read and understand labels and instructions, particularly regarding food safety and food hygiene.

Read senior center menu.

Serve lunch and dessert to all seniors.

Wash dishes, pots, and utensils.

Service as a substitute when the Employment Specialist is not present for the day.

Work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

Preferred Knowledge:

Strong commitment to high level of service and quality standards.

Ability to plan and organize.

Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

Strong sense of urgency; self-directed.

Ability read and understand labels and instructions, particularly regarding food safety and food hygiene procedures.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job the incumbent will have to sit, stand and or walk for the majority of the shift. The incumbent is required to regularly talk or hear while fulfilling the duties of the job. The employee may have to lift up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Environmental Demands:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations will be made. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the environment can be loud depending on what kitchen machinery is in use.

Background Check:
