Fuss & O'Neill is seeking a motivated and talented entry-level Transportation Engineer to join our dynamic team. As an entry-level engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects that will focus on design and calculations, cost estimating, and preparing plan submissions. Projects will include intersection improvements, roundabouts, roadway and highway reconstruction, and planning studies. This position offers the chance to gain valuable hands-on experience while working alongside experienced professionals in the field.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and development of highway and roadway projects, including geometric layout and analysis, and estimating.
  • Conduct field investigations to gather data for project planning and design.
  • Perform engineering calculations and analysis using software tools such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or Civil 3D.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Assist in the preparation of project reports and presentations.
  • Adhere to project schedules and budgets while maintaining high-quality work standards.
  • Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
  • Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or Civil 3D.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred
  • Internship or co-op experience in transportation engineering or related field preferred
  • Experience with CTDOT design guidelines a plus
