Summary

The Senior Advisor, Solution Architect (SA) distills functional requirements and creates a technical model for implementation. You will be helping us to establish our IT Architecture practice, clearly articulating and documenting solutions to include technical specifications for software, infrastructure, data, and security/compliance domains. Solutions must be aligned with both relevant product roadmap(s) and BTS architectural standards.

What You'll Be Doing (Essential Duties)

  • Responsible for assisting in the establishment of an IT architecture practice and the adoption of an architecture and standards methodology. (20%)
  • Manages activities that take place during solution ideation, solution design, and solution implementation. (20%)
  • Reviews business context for solutions to company challenges as well as defining the vision and requirements for the solution, recommending potential options, (which may include RFIs, RFPs or prototype development), selecting the most optimal option, and the development of a roadmap for the selected solution. (20%)
  • Communicates the architecture to the stakeholders and collaborates and coordinates with existing domain architects in the formalization and adoption of IT standards and procedures. (10%)
  • Champions a structured approach to business application solutions. (10%)
  • Directly assists in the development of a solutions architecture program including departmental roadmaps and project portfolios for IT systems architecture. (10%)
  • Assures solutions are a fit for the specific purpose and align with BTS standards for technology solutions. (10%)

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, plus at least 7 years of relevant experience
  • Proven experience managing technology systems, including managing work and driving strategic direction of technology systems.
  • Professional proficiency in Luminate Online or other Digital Fundraising eCommerce tools (RaiseNow, Fundraise Up, Classy.org, Salsa) or general payment processing via Stripe, PayPal via API integration.
  • Professional proficiency in Blackbaud CRM or other enterprise level CRM's (i.e. Salesforce NPSP/NPC, Microsoft Dynamics) specifically in a non-profit or higher-education setting.
  • Proven ability to understand complex data structures and integrate varied data sources utilizing integration platforms, batch processing, and REST/SOAP API calls.
  • Professional exposure to Content Management Systems (CMS) such as Drupal or Adobe Experience Manager. Understanding of DNS, hosting, CDN, and other components working in conjunction with a CMS.
  • Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions quickly and effectively with the ability to determine impact and resolutions.
  • Demonstrated successful planning and problem-solving skills, with proven ability to multi-task and work well within tight timelines.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills as shown in documentation preparation and execution.
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally, both technical and non-technical.
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering and maintaining and environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging.

    Compensation

    Save the Children is offering the following salary ranges for this position, dependent on candidate location:

    • Geo 1 - NY Metro, DC, and other locations with labor costs significantly above national average: Target Salary for this position is $108,800 - $121,600 base salary
    • Geo 2 - Locations around the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $98,600 - $110,200 base salary
    • Geo 3 - Locations significantly below the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $88,400 - $98,800 base salary

    The salary ranges listed above are for US based candidates. For candidates located outside of the US, salary ranges will be based on the salary scales of the local employer of record.

    Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location (more information on job structure is available ). Employee may be eligible for an incentive program. Save the Children also offers paid vacation, accrued at least 12 days a year, depending on paygrade and length of service, paid safety and wellness leave of at least 1 day per month worked for a full time employee which is pro rata reduced for employees working less than a full time schedule, and at least 10 paid holidays a year. Employees may be eligible for additional bonus compensation.
