Core Responsibilities

  • Support/Assist department goals by:
  • As an Engineering Technical Associate (EP), you will work with a team of engineers to complete projects related to system analysis, design, standards, and engineering computer applications. You will also assist in providing a wide range of services including generator interconnection services, developing standards, analytics, program optimization, developing and onboarding new equipment, and system impact studies of the electric distribution system to support internal and external customers.
  • Your assignment may include providing technical support, project management support, data collection and analysis, procedure reviews, design scoping and development support, work management oversight, or other operational support depending on the business needs.
  • This is an interest posting to gather applications for Technical Associate candidates pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or environmental science (as detailed below).   • EPs will assist in providing solutions, technical expertise, guidance, and coordinating company forces that support the design, upgrade, and maintenance of the Con Edison Distribution system.
  • Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science and 1 year work experience and/or internship/coop with Coned.

Relevant Work Experience

  • One year relevant experience (includes co-op or internships) Required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products Required
  • Must demonstrate ability to accept challenges and solve problems Required
  • Must exercise good judgment and render sound decisions Required
  • Must demonstrate a positive work ethic in support of the Company's Corporate Values and Missions Required
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills Required
  • Must be well organized, detail orientated and flexible to handle multiple assignments Required
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with company employees. Required
  • Ability to draft, edit and proofread memos, presentations and board reports as required. Required

Licenses & Certifications

  • Driver's License Required

Other Physical Demands

  • Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
  • Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.
