Position Overview:

Ameresco currently has a new opportunity for an Operations and Maintenance Site Manager basedin Windsor Locks, CT to join the East O&M team. Coordinates the day-to-day activities of O&M Technicians. Responsible for safe and effective equipment operation and maintenance. Ensures that all plant equipment is operated and maintained in accordance with contractual requirements. Troubleshoots and resolves problems as they arise. Works with others in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Cost effective leadership and supervision of site O&M personnel, including daily work direction, personnel hiring, scheduling, time keeping and performance appraisals.

  • Management and oversight of all operations and maintenance including the planning and scheduling of activities and the workforce to safely and economically operate, service, repair and overhaul plant equipment and to troubleshoot and solve operational problems.

  • Procure necessary materials, and stock required inventory.

  • Oversee contractors, ensuring that all performance, safety, and environmental requirements are met.

  • Prepare reports, work orders, and similar documents in accordance with Ameresco O&M contracts and customer requirements.

  • Implement preventive maintenance programs.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or Technology, or the equivalent.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience with industrial, utility, or marine-based energy equipment, including boilers, steam supply systems, air conditioning equipment, pumps, control valves, instrumentation, controllers, electrical equipment and lighting systems, water chemistry, and associated ancillary equipment.

  • Additional education may be substituted for years of related experience.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Supervisory experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including effective coaching and mentoring.

  • Extensive knowledge of electric power plant operations and maintenance.

  • Working knowledge of OSHA and environmental laws and regulations affecting plant operations and maintenance.

  • Working knowledge of appropriate policy, procedures, work practices and labor/union agreements and negotiation.

  • Working knowledge of budget preparation and administration.

  • Demonstrated decision making skills.

  • Proficient PC, Internet and related software application skills.

  • Flexibility to work extended hours to support ongoing operations and maintenance activities.
