Test Engineering Lab Technician Jobs

STS Technical Services is hiring a Test Engineering Lab Technician in Danbury, Connecticut.

Position Summary:

Provide support to the Test Engineering functional group through various engineering tasks, including hands-on responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Familiarize oneself with laboratory environments and test equipment.
  • Set up test apparatus and perform operational testing.
  • Conduct cabinet integration testing and troubleshoot as needed.
  • Draft test reports evaluating product performance against specifications.
  • Review project instructions and drawings to determine test specifications, procedures, objectives, required test equipment, technical issues, and potential solutions.
  • Conduct tests on assembled units and components.
  • Record test results using numerical and graphical data.
  • Analyze test results in relation to design and testing objectives.
  • Offer hands-on feedback to engineers.
  • Support qualification testing, coordinating test execution both in-house and at external laboratories.
  • Operate Engineering Lab environmental chambers.
  • Construct engineering and manufacturing test fixtures based on drawings and schematics.
  • Repair, modify, and certify test fixtures as necessary.
  • Perform lab 6S activities, including cleanup and safety measures.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Uphold and promote the organization’s mission, values, and culture.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience and an Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to interpret schematics.
  • Mechanical aptitude and practical knowledge of general hand tools and machine shop equipment.
  • Prior experience in soldering.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware at the component level.
  • Proficiency in PC skills, including experience with MS Word, Excel, and VISIO.
