Our year-round internship programs allow undergraduate students to work in several areas before they graduate. These paid opportunities span a range of studies, including, but not limited to:

• Finance

• Foreign language
• Engineering
• Information technology

Schools with co-operative programs typically have specific requirements to receive co-op credit. So, we designed our co-op program at the CIA to help students meet those requirements. As part of our program, students work on an alternating semester basis for at least three semesters before they graduate. This can include a summer work session as well. Since our Agency does not work with an established list of co-op programs, students will need to work with their schools to receive academic credit.

As an Intelligence Analyst Intern for CIA, you will work on teams alongside our full-time analysts, studying and evaluating information from all available sourcesclassified and unclassifiedand then analyzing it to provide timely and objective assessments to customers such as the President, National Security Council, and other U.S. policymakers.

Liberal arts majors research, analyze, write, and brief on international political, military, economic, and leadership developments.

Engineering, science students, or those in other technical programs analyze and provide written and oral assessments on challenging national security issuesincluding foreign weapons development, weapons proliferation, cyber warfare, and emerging technologiesand apply their scientific and technical knowledge to solve complex intelligence problems.

In addition to your analytic responsibilities, you will become familiar with the Agency and Intelligence Community by participating in a range of meetings and projects. The Undergraduate Internship/Co-op Program allows you and the Agency to assess opportunities to serve as a graduate fellow, if schooling continues, or permanent employment following your completion of undergraduate school.

Minimum Qualifications

Full-time student pursuing an undergraduate degree from a variety of majors, including:

• Area Studies
• Computer Science
• Cybersecurity
• Economics
• Engineering
• International Affairs
• Physical Sciences
• At least a 3.0 GPA on a 4-point scale
• Attending school on a full-time basis before/following this internship
• Availability to work at least one 90-day tour prior to graduation with the possibility to do additional tours depending on availability
• Ability to meet theminimum requirements for joining CIA, including U.S. citizenship and a background investigation
